The Beauty House opened its doors in December 2018 when Beauty Therapist Carey who had worked within a local Hair & Beauty salon for 10 years decided to take the plunge and start her own beauty business when the opportunity came up to take over the existing beauty salon & rent the premises.
Since opening, The Beauty House has continued to grow which has allowed us to be able to attend regular training courses so we can offer our clients the latest treatments in the beauty industry. After only a couple of years of opening the salon I am so proud of everything we have achieved so far and I am so excited for the salons future

Carey
Hello, I’m Carey and The Beauty House is my wee salon. I am a fully qualified Beauty therapist with over 13 years experience In the beauty industry.
After completing my training I was offered a job in a salon just over an hours drive from where I live and I grabbed the opportunity with both hands as I was so excited to get straight to working in a well established beauty salon.
After a few months I was offered a job in a new local salon which suited me so much better as the salon was only 5 minutes away. The salon offered hair, beauty and spa services and I had worked there for 10 years when the premises became available to rent and that’s when I decided to start my own business and open The Beauty House.
I offer a wide range of beauty treatments and love having a variety of treatments in a day although I would say my favourite treatments are Nails, Waxing & Russian Lash extensions. I have recently completed henna & brow lamination training which is something I have wanted to gain more knowledge in and learn new techniques with for a long time.
The thing I love most about my job is definitely working with people and getting to know more about my clients. There is no better feeling than when they leave the salon feeling better about themselves than when they came in. Due to the close nature of our job, clients often open up to us as Beauty therapists and for them to be able to put their trust in me just means so much.

I started college in 2016 when I attended as part of the School Link programme on a Friday where we were introduced to the Hair & Beauty environment and given an introduction into both Industries and got to practice treatments on other students on the course as part of our assessments. After getting to spend time in both the hair and beauty training salons I decided I wanted to learn more in Beauty Therapy and I Started my full time course in 2018.
I Joined the Beauty House later that year in December on the day the salon opened to gain experience working in the salon environment. I enjoyed getting to carry out general salon duties as well as build my confidence in communication and customer care skills to name a few. I was able to practice treatments on real paying clients at a discounted rate to gain further knowledge and build my confidence in the practical side of things.
I have now completed my SVQ Level 2 & 3 in Beauty and enjoy carrying out a variety of treatments in the salon as it makes every day different. My favourite treatments are facials & Reflexology, I would love to gain more knowledge in Skin Care & Aromatherapy and train in more advanced treatments in the future. My favourite thing about being a beauty therapist is making clients feel better about themselves

I became fully qualified in Beauty therapy after completing both my SVQ level 2 & 3 at our local UHI., I have been working in the industry for over 3 years. I started as a Saturday girl in a local salon and worked my way up to a full time therapist.
Whilst at college I was also lucky enough to be awarded “Student of the Year” in both of my years which I was and still am delighted with.
I Joined The Beauty House in October 2019 which I absolutely love. My favourite treatments are definitely all things facials which I hope to further my knowledge in by attending more training courses in different facial treatments in the near future.
As a Beauty Therapist I love being able to get my creative side going with Nails & Make-Up and I really enjoy the social aspect of my job getting to meet new people as well as catching up with regular clients, but definitely seeing how good you can make someone feel is the best part of my job
